How I Got Inspired To Write ‘Somebody Great’ – Korede Bello

Mavin Records star, Korede Bello released his follow up single, ‘Somebody Great’ about a week ago and the song has since gathered massive air play and acceptance for the messages inherent in it.

The singer in a recent chat with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), revealed how he got inspired to write such a message laden track. Insisting that he wrote the song to inspire people to visualize success in their inner mind and strife hard toward attaining it.
The song that features legendary female singer, Asa preaches hardwork, dedication and God’s favour to move from the state of ordinary to extra ordinary a strong follow up to his hit ‘Godwin’ which was also fans favourite.

According to Korede, “It’s about the people, how we were born into this world and we don’t know how the journey will go and how one love will take us from nobody to somebody. How I one day hoped that my voice would unite people and stop bombing and fighting and tribulations. That my voice would command authority; it’s not just me, it’s about alleviating people from oppression and mental poverty.
You can be somebody great from nobody to somebody, you can be anything you want to be: have love for God, love for people, one love.”
He further spoke about the wave making song,
“But also one of the reasons why I wrote that song is for people to see themselves as great. Because before you can be somebody great, you need to first see it in your mind and you need to prophesy it to yourself, you need to say it to yourself.

And I guess, those are one of the privileges of being a musician because you can put things out there in a melodic form that can change people’s lives forever.
The song is more like a prophesy for everybody that listens to it to be able to command authority; command respect and most of all, have mental wealth.’’
The singer finally spoke on how the song relate to him personally maintaining that he became what he is today out of nothing.

June 12 annulment didn’t affect my relationship with Abiola’s family, says Babangida

ABUJA- FORMER Military President, General Ibrahim Babangida said Tuesday that his annulment of June 12 Presidential presumed to have been won by late Moshood Abiola never affected his relationship with Abiola’s family.

In a condolence message he personally signed to the family of late Mubashiru Abiola, which sad event took place a week ago, Babangida said that the relationship between the family was still robust, intact and spanned for three decades
He said, “On behalf of my family, let me use this medium to convey my heartfelt condolence to the family of late Mubashiru Abiola, which sad event took place a week ago.
“As a member of the Abiola Family, I had a very robust and close relationship with him; a relationship that spanned over three decades.
“Even though his death came to me as a shock, I am consoled by the fact that he lived a very honest and straight-forward life without given to sentiments. He was very down-to-earth, unassuming, and a devout Muslim, whose sense of purpose was not in doubt.
“Despite the annulment of June 12 general elections presumed to have been won by his elder brother and irrespective of the backlash, our relationship still blossomed; largely because he understood the circumstances that necessitated our action. He was a very brutally frank family man who abhorred malice to a great extent.
“I feel a sense of personal loss at the news of his death, but since death is the last testament of man, one can only wish the Almighty Allah grant him Aljanat Firdaus and console the family he left behind. May the Almighty Allah, give them the fortitude to bear with this painful loss.”

Ramsey explains tactics after Manchester United win

At full throttle from the first minute, Arsenal proved too much for Manchester United on Sunday.

A 3-0 win at the Emirates Stadium was all but wrapped up after just 20 minutes which saw Arsenal furiously pressure the visitors to force them into turning the ball over. United were awful playing out from the back as Arsenal gave them little time on the ball
“Our main aim was to press high up and win the ball back in dangerous areas. We knew we could capitalise on that and we did it,” Ramsey explained after the match. It worked perfectly, Arsenal were relentless in the opening stages and raced into a 2-0 lead after nine minutes before adding the third goal 10 minutes later.
“The work ethic of the whole team was brilliant today and that’s what we need to keep doing throughout the whole season to be successful.
“Hopefully now at home we can make a bit of a run and keep this up. The work-rate we showed today is what we have got to show week win, week out.”
Arsenal were so up for the game, fighting for every loose back and forcing errors right from the off. The team has been accused of sitting off opponents too often, or playing too slowly so the opposition can get into a solid shape.
United weren’t allowed any of that comfort, and didn’t seem to realise what hit them.
Now, as Ramsey says, Arsenal can use the game to launch a title challenge.

Tomas Rosicky: The Forgotten Hero

Just yesterday, some 35 years ago, a hero was born.
He was born in Prague, a city in the Czech Republic.
I am referring to none other than Tomas Rosicky.
We were all carried away with the win over United yesterday that even Rosicky would forgive us for forgetting his birthday.
Although, injured and out from the team, that win over United had to be the perfect birthday present for Rozza. That is assuming no one got him a planet or an Island as a birthday present.
After causing trouble in the Czech league with his hometown club Sparta Prague and later on in Germany, at Dortmund, Arsenal just had to sign the Czech midfielder.
He ended up getting nicknamed ‘Little Mozart’ for his ability to orchestrate the midfield.
Don’t get me wrong, by saying trouble up there, I meant doing really good stuff in their midfield and scoring some wonderful goals too.
Rozza signed for Arsenal in 2006, May 23 to be precise.
He made his competitive debut for the team in a 3-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb on August 8 in a champions league qualifier, yes the same one that beat us some weeks ago.
Rozza didn’t take long to get his first goal tho, scoring as early as September 13 against Hamburg in a game we won 2-1.
Then on January 6 2007, he got two goals against Loserpool in a 3-1 FA Cup win.
His first goal in the league tho had to wait, it finally came against Wigan on the 11th of February 2007.
By the end of his first season, Rozza got 6 goals from 37 appearances.
Sadly for him though, since then his career has been stop-start thanks to different injuries he has had to encounter. The most notable of them that Tendon injury which made him miss the whole of 2008/09 season.
The latest injury picked up during the summer while away on international duty has kept him out since June till now.
Even in all this, he has still remained a crowd favourite at Arsenal.
Match winning goals against local rivals Spuds have played a huge part in the love the fans have for him.
Personally, I miss having Rosicky in the team.
In my opinion he is the only one who can match that drive and pace that Sanchez plays with, not that am saying he is as good as the Chilean tho.
I really would love to see him back soon and maybe get a chance in the team.
At 35 years of age, he could retire any time soon especially as the injuries don’t seem to be holding back, they just keep coming.
Turning 35 yesterday, Tomas Rosicky has amassed a whooping 243 appearances for Arsenal and scored 28 goals.
We can’t argue that some of those goals have come in very important times tho, like that 1-0 win against Spuds and many more.
With the way the team is set up now, everyone seems to forget he still plays for us, I remember you Tomas and wish you the quickest of recoveries.
Who knows, maybe he could get atleast 2 more goals to take that goal tally to 30 before he calls it quits.
To be honest, I smell retirement soon.
#GetWellSoonRosicky
Am out.

Cech happy to see Sanchez back up to top speed

Sanchez

Petr Cech believes Alexis Sanchez's slow start to the season for Arsenal was due to his Copa America heroics with Chile.
Arsenal are reaping the benefits of Alexis Sanchez hitting top form according to goalkeeper Petr Cech.
The ex-Barcelona forward netted a brace as Arsene Wenger's side stormed to a dominant 3-0 Premier League win over Manchester United on Sunday.
It extended Sanchez's current purple patch to six goals in three matches across all competitions - kicked off by a hat-trick in the 5-2 win at Leicester City.
The 26-year-old failed to score on his previous eight appearances this term - something Cech attributes to Sanchez being fatigued after helping Chile to Copa America glory.
"It's always hard for the players when you have the Copa America," Cech told Arsenal Player. "He won it, he was there for a really long time, didn't have much break and then came back and needed to start again.
"You could see that everybody from the Copa America had a slow start, in other teams and competitions as well. We're pleased that he's back with his energy, with his enthusiasm and you can see that he feels confident and with performances like that, it's great for the team.
Sanchez opened the scoring with an impudent backheel against United and, by the time he clattered his second into the top corner, Arsenal were 3-0 to the good after 19 minutes.
"We put in the right intensity and the first goal helped," said Cech, who collected his fourth Arsenal clean sheet. "Once you go one up, you can get the game under control.
"What was good was that we searched for the second and third goals and they came pretty quickly. We managed to get ourselves the advantage and I think we did remarkably well to control the game afterwards."
The former Chelsea man added: "Every clean sheet counts. There was an important save right at the end of the first half, which I'm pleased with.
"The whole team defended very well as a unit against Manchester United and we deserved the clean sheet."
