Chris Martin has been sued for
hitting a paparazzo with his car, although the incident seemed like a
set-up from the get-go, new reports claim.
Back in January, Martin and ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow dined
together with their children at the Los Angeles restaurant Giorgio
Baldi. They later got into the singer’s Jeep to drive away with Martin
behind the wheel. As he navigated the parking lot, Martin hit
photographer Richard Terry.
Photos that surfaced at the time showed Terry seemingly
running up to the car just as Martin was attempting to turn. Other
pictures taken from across the street showed the paparazzo then lying on
the ground after being struck. But even though there were other
photographers on the scene, only one in particular captured the incident
from across the road, leading many to believe the two had actually
targeted Martin.
Terry is now suing
Martin, claiming the Coldplay front man deliberately hit him with the
vehicle because of his hatred towards paparazzi. As evidence, the
cameraman alleges Martin has “a significant history of repeated and
ongoing violent acts against entertainment news people.”
According to TMZ,
Terry further blames the star for leaving after the accident, like in a
hit and run, rather than making sure he was okay.
The lawsuit’s filing comes 11 months after the incident occurred
