dreadlocks is their symbol of identity, some of them have for fashion
and the fun of it.
To some, dreadlocks symbolize strong personality. Gbenro
Ajibade, Dakore Egbuson-Akande and Uti Uwachukwu used to have their hair
locked until they cut it off recently. Here is a list of wave making

force to reckon with in the Nigerian music industry. The dancehall act
is known for wearing a short dreads which is synonymous to his genre of

Renowned for her fusion of contemporary Jazz sound, pop and reggae with
traditional Yoruba music has since her emergence on the music scene been
known as a naturalista. Asa rocks her dreads stylishly.
Reekado Banks
Mavin Records music act, Reekado Banks is a lover of dreadlocks. Banks carries his locks in his unique style.
Burna Boy
Burna Boy is another wave making dancehall act with the locks. Burna
Boy joined the dreads wearing celebrities some months back and for him
it must be long.
Ehiz
The winner of the MTV Base VJ Search Nigeria, Ehizojie Okoeguale is
another proud dreadlock wearing entertainer. The Lead City University
graduate is known for his signature hairstyle.
Ycee
This fast rising dancehall singer came to limelight with his
signature dreadlock. The Jagaban singer who recently lost out at the
just concluded AFRIMA awards has shown with his music that he is here to
stay.
Paul of Psquare
Paul is one of the singing twin brothers, Psquare and he is known for
his long dread. Before now the twin brothers were in dreads until Peter
opted out and cut his off while Paul carries on.
Tosyn Bucknor
Top radio on-air-personality (OAP) Tosyn Bucknor is known to always
keep her dreads short and simple. The Area Mama as she is fondly
referred to be her numerous fans recently got married and unlike her
contemporaries, she made her dread into a bun on her wedding day.

Basketmouth is the most popular comedian with dreads. Sometime ago,
Basketmouth request to his wifes wish, he cut off his dreads just for a
while as she loves it but later returned to wearing dreadlocks.

This Nigerian music video director, filmmaker and cinematographer has
been known for wearing dreadlocks since debuting in the entertainment
industry. The CEO of Capital Dream Pictures is also the founder and CEO
of Capital Hill Records.
Nse Ikpe Etim
The beautiful gap-tooth Nollywood actress is famous for the
dreadlocks trademark. Even on her wedding day, Etim carried her natural
look. She got married to Clifford Sule in 2013.
Flavour N’abania
The 31 year old Nigerian gifted singer and performer, Chinedu Okoli
popularly known as Flavour, is one of Africa’s most sought after
artists. Flavour is known to have added some signature to the way dreads
should be carried.
